Capturing Small Moments & Fortner_Tuley Engagement Sneak Peak
The photo of my adventure seeking daughter was taken with my iPhone. No filter and no editing. She called me over to see the frog she wanted to keep. I wanted to capture her and one of the animals she loves to catch and create a temporary habitat for them. So how do you get your child and something so small into a photo and make it look good? Most would ask the child to hold is in their hand and snap the photo. This is just fine to do but getting your child's face in the photo adds a completely different perspective!! Not only do you get the size of what they are holding but your also get their personality or reaction to what they are holding. Below is a photo of her holding a tiny frog on her finger. You cannot tell from this photo whether it is her finger or mine. The perspective is taken away.
As you can tell my daughter loves frogs without me even telling you. The photo to the right tells you a story. It was the end of a warm day by her outfit and the low sun behind her head. Then the frog tells you her love for animals at this stage in her life. The sunburst over her head is created by just barely having the sun in the photo. If you have full sun in the shot then the sunburst will go across the whole photo. I hope this will help you the next time your child comes up to you and you want to capture that moment!!
